More Microsoft Office 2010 Details Revealed
You may remember, or even still use, the very first beta Microsoft published of Office 2010. I have to say, Microsoft have really done an excellent job with combining everything all into one (fairly large) office suite.
If you remember our Office 2010 post way back in November, which was when Tech Cores had its complete overhaul, it seems to be certain that everyone loves the speed of Office 2010. And you know what else people will love, the speed of how long it is 'til release date!
Yes, that's right, Microsoft is planning on releasing it "in just a couple of months". This is great news because a new Office suite from Microsoft is for sure a good thing. Microsoft doesn't have that great a of a track record of releasing new office apps that often anyways.
When you think about it, we really only have Office XP, Office 2003, Office 2007, and now Office 2010 in the past few years. It's not that much, so it's great to have a brand new Microsoft Office.
From according to the very hyperactive man at Microsoft, Steve Ballmer, he said:
You’ll see the new version of Office, which comes out here in just a couple of months. It not only works on your PC but it will work through any Web browser and down onto the phone in new and rich ways.
So what can we expect? I'm thinking we will for sure see Office 2010 release by mid-April. But the thing is, they said that it'll only work on your PC. If this is not me, but I' thinking that Microsoft is planning a rebranding of Office for Mac. Microsoft Office 2008 is the latest for the Mac, and we do need an update. I'm wondering what Microsoft is thinking...
Another huge thing we might see is something like Google Docs, but with Microsoft software. I remember that Microsoft has an online service, like a Microsoft Office suite, but on your SkyDrive. I think we might be able to expect this coming into mass effect.
And lastly, I think we're going to see a huge different Office Mobile, which is obviously for Windows Mobile. I just hope they fix those slow loading times.
We'll for sure keep you updated as more information comes out. This will be very interesting on what Microsoft will be doing in the next coming months.
