Start Your Car Remotely With Your BlackBerry!

A company called Viper is really changing the way we may start up our cars in the future. Viper SmartStart is already available on the iPhone OS platform, but it will be coming to your BlackBerry soon!

What's amazing with this system is that you're able to basically control all of your car main functions: locking/unlocking, controlling the panic alarm, starting your car remotely; yes, that's right, from your phone, popping up the hood, and even allows you to control multiple vehicles!

I don't know if everyone is going to use this system because you have to buy the system and pay for the renewals which are $30 for a year. When you think about it, $30 a year really isn't that bad for this service.

This is much more powerful than your regular car keys. Say if you're in a parking lot, and you cannot find your car, you will be able to click the panic button on your iPhone or even your BlackBerry soon enough to find it. The advantage of this is that you have a much wider range of distance.

Is thisĀ usableĀ for everyone, no. Mainly because some cars will most likely not have this system built in to the car. You really don't need this system. But with all the people loosing their phones now-in-days, I wouldn't want my phone being able to control my car. I would rather trust regular keys. Granted that this is a very cool thing, and I can see car vendors taking advantage of it, but it would be nice if this technology was able to have technology like OnStar built right into it.

I can see much more room for expansion with this nice service, but as for now, I would rather personally stick with my keys. I would believe a regular key would be your safest bet. But the great thing is with this service, even if you loose your "key", you should be able to deactivate it and simple be on your way to activate it with another phone/device.

Would you ever use such a service?

Stalk me on social media! Any other way would just be creepy…
