Windows Cleaners

Have you noticed that after some time, Windows does happen to get a bit slower over the time you are using it? Well, Microsoft Windows does happen to get a bit slower because you happen to store lots of temporary files onto your computer. This is because a lot of your applications store information for caching. But some of the times, these applications do not get rid of their data. Hence why we have these file cleaners for Windows.

I've compiled a list of my favorite file cleaners or just applications that help make Windows run a bit more smoothly.

In this blog post, I will say something in Windows that is called the registry. The registry is 100% text based, and it basically stores all of your settings and information for your computer.

1) CCleaner - CCleaner is one of my favorite system cleaners out there. Its interface is so easy to use. Very sleek UI, and overall such a great application. CCleaner allows you to clean your system for files it does not need, and also allows you to clean the registry bad and invalid keys. It even comes with a start-up manager!

2) Defraggler - Now this is not really a Windows cleaning program, but it still does "clean" your computer up. This program cleans up your hard drive. Over time, your hard drive can accumulate a lot of un-needed fragments on your hard drive. This, in return, happens to make your hard drive read more to get information; or just making your computer read/write information slower. Now fragmentation is most commonly used with NTFS file systems (Windows), and I highly recommend you do it at least once a month. For me, I do it once a week. This is mainly because I work with lots and lots of data, and I want my system to be in top shape; that is so I do not lose any information. Defragler is made by the same company who made CCleaner. And I can say this is another great application from Piriform!

3) Tuneup Utilities 2009 - Now this application is not freeware like the rest are, but this application has tons of features! This application can help you gain performance in Windows, free up disk space, clean up Windows (like the internal files), solve some problems that might affecting your computers performance, customization of Windows (like the login screen), and also has some more tools built in to you help you maintain your computer at the highest level! This application is the only application you would need if you wanted to maintain Windows and more! I sure give this application a thumbs-up for their automated / One click cleaning software also! What another great cleaning software! I would sure pick up a copy today!

4) nCleaner - This is another file cleaner; but file cleaner is very much related to CCleaner. nCleaner can pretty much do everything CCleaner can do and maybe a bit more... But in the end, this another great file cleaner for Windows!

All of these applications I enjoy to use; and I happen to like all of them equally. But find what application fits you best. For me, I like the applications like Tuneup Utilities 2009 which has a lot of features! But even because no application can be perfect, sometimes you need more than one. So try these applications out, and see which one you like best. Or comment on the ones you like best!
